Poaching On Club Waters

Club Policy

An incident occurred recently at the Church Pool Tong, which resulted in the arrest of three foreign nationals.  they were discovered by a club member fishing during the hours of darkness with rods and lines which contained multiple hook end tackle.  When a nearby vehicle was checked a number of dead large Carp and Bream were found in the back of the vehicle in bags.

Should a member witness any similar incident on any of the club waters, the following course of action should be followed:

• Note the number of persons present, are they in the act of fishing and catching fish.

• Note any dead fish on the bank nearby.

• Try to determine the language spoken if audible.

• Note down vehicle registration number.

• DO NOT CONFRONT THEM UNTIL ASSISTANCE ARRIVES.

• Immediately contact one of the following officers of the club.  Ian Brewis or Clive Blakemore.  They will contact the nearest police station.

• if contact is not possible dial 999

• Ensure all exit gates are secured

• Keep them under constant surveillance until the arrival of club officials and police.

• Remember these people may be violent, there may be more offenders fishing who are concealed from your view.
